Heathy and Straight by lamodemoderne featuring a straight iron
Hey, babes! If you guys follow me on Tumblr or Instagram, you know that my natural hair is very curly. I keep it straight most of the time, but to let it rest and de-stress I allow it to go au nautrale every once in a while. My hair is my lioness mane, guys! I love it a lot and keep it super healthy even though I use heat styling on it every day. Here's how I keep it healthy, straighten it, and some tips and tricks for keeping your man in tip top shape!
Step One: Shampoo hates hair! Once I found this out my hair was instantly healthier. I use the Wen Cleansing Conditioner to cleanse my hair. I love the cucumber aloe scent specifically, and that's the one I've been going back to for my last three bottles. It's so moisturizing and the formula really repairs my hair. Then, I add some more conditioning magic with the Malin & Goetz Cilantro Conditioner. It's pricey but it's such a holy grail. I am obsessed. This is how I always start to straighten my hair; with health!
Step Two: I towel dry the excess moisture off my hair so it's not dripping wet when I get out of the shower. Then, I let it towel dry until it's just damp. Once it's gotten to a point that I like, I smother it in It's a 10 Miracle Leave In with Keratin. It's a heat protectant, a moisturizer, a keratin treatment, and just about anything else you need for your hair. Whenever I use it on my hair, it comes out straighter, shiner, and just better. Holy grail till the end.

Holy grail till the end.
Step Three: Separate your hair into three or four sections; this is all very personal and depends on the length of your hair and how you like to blow dry it. Then, I use a Chi hair dryer, with the straightening nozzle and go section by section, using my ceramic hair brush and drying downwards, until my hair is totally straight and dry.
Step Four: Once my hair is straight and dry, it's usually a little poofy from the blow dry. I go through my whole head with the Chi flat iron. It makes it gorgeously shiny and extra straight. My favorite flat iron of all time. I also use this flat iron to curl my hair when I'm in the mood!
Step Five: Right after I'm done with the flat iron, I go straight in with MoroccanOil hair treatment. I take a small amount onto my hands and distribute it throughout my entire head. Adds a wonderful smell, great shine, tremendous moisture, and lovely texture. Then, when I've got second day (or third, or fourth...) hair, I spray my hair with just a touch of OGX Coconut Oil Weightless Mist and it looks like I just stepped out of the salon!
Have fun!
