Spring Wardrobe: 101

Spring Wardrobe 101

Spring Wardrobe 101 by lamodemoderne

Spring has finally arrived up here in the previously frozen tundra of New York City. I was really over all this cold, so these 45 and 50 degree days have been seriously gorgeous. Yesterday, I had to run errands at the mall (I made a mini Forever 21 makeup haul, which I will let you guys know all about soon!) and I wore my favorite David Buffalo trench coat, navy blue ankle chino pants, a buttery soft boyfriend tee, and the most comfortable sneakers I own. Can you believe it? I didn't even wear a scarf. It was bananas.
To celebrate this glorious day, I've decided to grace you all with some insider information on Spring wardrobes. These are some serious essentials you should grab before the season really gets underway and they all become overpriced. You're so welcome ;). All of these examples can be high end or high street, just pick up whatever you're comfortable with. We're gonna go over each one hand in hand, so don't get overwhelmed! Just bask in the sunlight and get ready to shop!

Trench coats are everything. I love a good trench coat, and you should too! You can throw it over anything at all and make it look chic as anything. They're classic, they're in, and they're wonderfully available. My David Buffalo trench is amazing. It's a perfectly cool toned khaki, which is a necessity. The color of your trench should be a calm khaki with equally chill buttons. That will help you pair it with much more of you outfit and it won't clash with anything. The David Buffalo also has the added hint of girly charm with a ruffled skirt! But any decent, well dyed, lined trench will be great. Here are a few great options:

I love a good patterned ankle pant. Prints are showing up everywhere in fashion lately, and prints are always a super integral part of Spring. I mean really, who doesn't love a good floral? But any kind of pattern on an ankle pant is really trendy, so any one that you find to your liking will probably be great. The trick is to find a pattern that flatters your shape, and a color that you can transition for different outfits and occasions. I don't believe in one trick ponies. Here are some beautiful choices:

For me, this whole Spring centers around nude lips and dewy skin. I'll do a much more extensive post about Spring makeup buys and maybe even Spring launches, but for right now, all you need to know is that a nude lip is going to soon become your whole life. Just face it. I have, and I'm cool with it. Since Spring is all about dewy freshness, my nude lip will most likely be a gloss. If it's not a gloss, it'll be a matte lipstick because I'm really into opposites. Either will work awesomely with your dewy spring skin...which you could find how to do...very soon *wink wink winkity wink*. A nude lips just elevates your whole face into this realm of pixie goddess that's totally desirable, trust me. Anyway, let's go over some glosses:
