Spring Wardrobe 102 by lamodemoderne
I thank the universe every day for pointed black pumps. I really, really do. They're just so lovely, and perfect, and flattering, and pretty, and did I mention perfect? I could walk out of the house in a burlap sack and my favorite Christian Louboutin's on, and Vogue would probably feature in me in their street style section.
Let's face it. A good black leather pump is a timeless piece. And for Spring 2015, adding mesh inserts makes you a trendy gal. They're endlessly useful and I could probably pop them on with any outfit my little heart desired and they would make that outfit better. Sometimes when I'm feeling whimsical, I'll put on my cigarette pants, an "I-look-like-I-smoke" sweater, and those gorgeous Loubies, Ruby Woo, and I am instantly Audrey Hepburn. Don't judge me.
The main things you need to remember when you buy your pumps, is height and pitch. Make sure the height of your heel is something you can handle, because you know as well as I do that if they're too high, you won't wear them. So know your limits and invest well. The pitch is just a fancy word for the part of the shoe that covers your arch and how arched or no-arched it actually is. If you think it's too extreme or too low, you won't be able to wear them the whole night, and we all know the golden rule: once you put on those shoes, you are married to them until you get home. Keep it classy, babes.
Here are some gorgeous pumps:

This is another one of those great warm weather staples that can transition to any single season with ease. A flowy, basic, well structured tee shirt is a great addition to any Spring wardrobe. You can pair it with your new boyfriend jeans and black pumps and call it a day, or, once it gets warmer, you can tuck it into a pair of chino shorts, pop on a straw fedora, slip into some strappy wedges and then bam, it's Summer!
Come Autumn, pop your tee under a structured blazer, shimmy into some skinnies, and pair it with your favorite riding boots and you're good to go. But for right now, let's not get ahead of ourselves and stick with Spring. A blush colored tee is perfect for just about any of your Springtime needs, so let's start there.
Here are some wonderful options:

And we're back with another exciting episode of Spring Wardrobe! This is the second, and very well anticipated part two in my ongoing Spring wardrobe series. You can find part one right here. Today, we're going over some Spring staples that I know I couldn't personally live without.
This is a perfect example of how you can use Spring wardrobe essentials to help you piece together a core group of fashion basics and necessities to use throughout the year. It's really simple, I promise, and I'm going to show you how it's done.
Ahhh, boyfriend jeans. I think boyfriend jeans are an essential part of any city chic wardrobe. Once they came on the scene as a trendy denim cut, they've been everywhere and stuck. The boyfriend cut is so versatile. They suit any kind of style and any sort of dresser. I will always throw on a pair over my leotard on the way to dance, throw a nice blouse, some pumps, and a necklace, and I'm ready for a casual lunch with friends even though I just kick ball changed my way into oblivion. The cut is really user friendly and hides a multitude of sins. But here's where it gets tricky. Some brands will make absolutely sure that there is not one ounce of shape to the denim and it won't flatter everyone. There's a pretty decent amount of trial and error when it comes to boyfriend jeans, but once you find your perfect brand and your perfect wash, you're as good as gold.
For Spring 2015, try a light wash or a medium wash, depending on which suits your complexion better. Take for instance, me. I would probably go for something with a more medium blue denim wash. Some destruction (but not too much) is great. You can style them with sneakers and a graphic tee for your casual days, or a classy blouse, fitted blazer, and pumps for a night out. Here are some of my personal favorite brands:
