I Love Spring Makeup!

I Love Spring Makeup!

I Love Spring Makeup! by lamodemoderne

Feel completely free to comment and tell me to chill with my Spring madness. But also remember that I've been living in the polar vortex that was New York since November, okay? Cut me some slack. Anyway, get ready for dewy skin and rosy hues because I am here for all things Spring makeup. I know you've all been bearing with me in terms of my YouTube channel, and I thank you guys. While we wait for me to get my filming space set up, my camera equipment cooperating, and my lighting making me looking fabulous, we'll just have to talk about my favorite Spring makeup right here. But, once everything is ready, I have a great Spring makeup tutorial that I will film! Promise. The products I'm going to talk about are products that I own and adore, so get ready to have a serious craving for some new makeup. Have fun!

This Bobbi Brown Brightening Brick in Pink is my holy grail blush since I picked it up a few months ago. I've used it every time I do a neutral eye look because it brightens up my skin perfectly, and gives me a natural look, healthy flush. Sometimes I'll use my Blend Cosmetics powder blush brush and swirl around the all the colors, smile, and apply just to the apples of my cheeks. With a fan brush, I'll just catch the two shades on the right and use them as a highlight. Also, I've used small fluffy brushes to catch certain colors to use as blush, eyeshadow, or even to highlight the center of my lip color! This is an investment, yes. It retails at Barney's for $46, but it's seriously so versatile and worth it. You know I don't believe in one trick ponies

The Nars blush/bronzer duo in Orgasm/Laguna is a great duo face palette. I've been buying this palette for years now and have officially gone through three. Don't ask. I have problems and am trying to work through them. It retails for $56 on Amazon. Anway, this is another super versatile product. I use the Laguna bronzer as a crease color all the time. It's also the one bronzer I've used to do friends' makeup with and it works well on just about every single skin tone. It gives you a real "I just stepped off a plane" glow. I use it with a large powder brush all over, very lightly, for a healthy tan, or with a flat contour brush in the hollows of my cheeks. Obsessed.

This is one of the very few single pans I own. It's a Maybelline single shadow in a gorgeous mauve shade. For me, it's light enough to wear it by itself all over my lid. It's one of my favorite shades for when I have absolutely no time to live and have to get out of the house without looking like a mess. I'll just use my fingers and slather it all over my eye wet. It's so pigmented, gorgeous, with just enough shimmer to make me look alive. My favorite Spring shade in a pinch. Retails for 3.99 pounds on Ikrush

I cried over this blush. Stop laughing. This blush is my holy grail makeup product of all time. I bought this Watercolour Blush on a whim from Daniel's website in the shade Truth, which retails for 15 UK pounds. I found this blush at a time when I felt really unpretty. My self esteem was at an all time low. I remember putting this on for the first time and it made my skin glow and look so healthy and lit from within. I felt pretty and it was new and weird. I thank Daniel Sandler so much for this gorgeous dewy, beautiful formula. I cannot make enough noise about this product. Just buy it. I finally ran out of my last bottle and it's giving me anxiety. That should tell you all you need to know.

One of my all time favorite nude glosses. I barely ever break out the lip gloss. It's usually uncomfortable, too shiny, streaky, and too sticky. This Illamasqua Sheer Lip Gloss in Intimacy is super pigmented, very wearable, and light. During Spring, I love a comfy gloss because it brightens my face and sparkles in the sun that finally decided to show up. The entire Illamasqua lip gloss line is great. I have three other shades, but as I mentioned in my Spring Wardrobe 101 post, the nude gloss is my favorite for Spring. Pick this one. It retails on ASOS for $26.

If you're a highlighter fan like I clearly am (I added three highlighters in this roundup, I mean, come on), then you already know and love Nars' Orgasm Illuminator. If not you need to get hip to this groove. For my skintone, it's a perfect warming illuminator. The way I use this product is  by mixing it with my foundation, bb cream, or tinted moisturizer. It adds just the right touch of glow. If that's not your jam, apply it to the tops of your cheeks with your fingertips. Our little secret, but I've also been using this to experiment with that runway eye gloss thing that's been going on (hint: it works). Retails for $30 at Barney's.

The blogger and YouTube community are losing their minds over this Maybelline Color Sensational Matte Lipstick in Daringly Nude. It's basically a perfect dupe for Kylie Jenner's now signature lip color. It's creamy and comfortable as all get out. For a drugstore matte lipstick it's a surprisingly comfy application. The color payoff is amazing and it lasts quite a long time. A great Springy nude! On Amazon for $6.

Okay, we all know Vaseline is great. Makeup artist's little secret, your mom's cure all, and a generally all-around great, tried and true product. Plot twist, they added color. This Rosy Lips Lip Therapy is going to be featured in my February Favorites video. I stole mine from my mom because I couldn't live without it. It adds a gorgeous nautral, just balmy enough, pink tone to my lips that I just love. Sometimes, I'll do a full face of everyday makeup and forgo all my other lip products just for this. Springy, natural, dewy, fresh, and a new favorite. Retails for $3 at Drugstore.com.

An all-time favorite powder of mine, the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Color is one of the few powders that doesn't leave my skin matte, but stops my skin from turning into an oil slick. I'll use a huge fluffy brush and put this all over my face just by itself; a surprising amount of coverage. It acts like a light, dewy, mineral foundation. Over face makeup it leaves a gorgeous, luminous finish. Totally worth it for keeping your fresh Spring face from melting on the warmer days to come without matte-ing you up! I am in the shade N30, for reference. Retails for $58 on Chanel's website.

A great drugstore find! The makeup community on social media have been raving about these quads since they came out, and for good reason. The Maybelline Color Plush Eye Shadow Quad in Copper Chic for Medium/Deep girls or Sunset Seduction for Fair/Light gals are the perfect Spring shades. You can create and endless amount of fresh, pretty looks for the coming months and it won't break your budget! You can also use the darker shades as shimmery bronzers, and the lightest shade as a highlighter! Retails for $10 on Maybelline.com.

Are you guys salivating? I feel you. Go out there and take this inspiration with you to find these or similar products to make your Spring a beautiful one, babes! Which one are you most excited to try? Got any fun Spring makeup ideas? Have fun!
